I have a soft spot for Spike Milligan - there is no secret that the loony that appeared on our screens had another side (often troubled) and reading his normally hilarious war memoirs, you realise that he can be poignant as well as funny.
Loved these words of his - thanks for posting them.
Morning Al. I never knew that Spike Milligan wrote poetry - let alone touching pieces like this.
Thanks folks. - I never knew he wrote poetry either until I stumbled on this. I remember seeing a documentary about him some time after he died and it was clear that there was much more to the man than just the TV persona.
It's a poignant wee bit of work.
