Snow Problem? - 'S No Problem.............

Between snow-showers today

Hullo ma wee blog,

Well, the snow is continuing to fall, our friend's flights to The Canary Islands have been cancelled and it may be several days before they can get an alternative, all schools are closed, there are no trains running on the East Coast line today and the main A1 from here to Edinburgh is blocked. So our friends are therefore trapped in Edinburgh for who knows how long.

All across Scotland it seems that chaos is King.

The impeccable 'Calvin and Hobbes'

The Lovely G and I have an extra day together and the house is warm. We renewed our supplies of wild bird food yesterday so the local bird population that has come to rely on us is being well catered for and have been entertaining us with their antics this morning. Nothing else for it but to make the most of the day. A spot of peaceful and perhaps reflective soup making is on the agenda for this afternoon.

I found this on You Tube this morning. It's appropriate for the weather.

Stay warm.....

See you later.

Take care of yourselves over there Al (sounds like you have a soup plan!) - from CK's blog too, it looks like you have it worse than us! O working at home today too (as I can mountain bike in, I'm going to head to work and see if it is open!). Cheers, SNB

Hope you made it safely and that the effort was worthwhile SNB.

Soup made and left to improve overnight. {Lentil - perfect for a winter's day}

"Sugarbush" had me on the alert and I went to the original U-tube--sure enough, Sugarbush in Warren, VT! J. has skied those mountains and D-I-L was at one time on the ski patrol there. [Vermont being the place of our origin.]
Lentil soup is a favorite in this household and I agree, its even better the second day. Raining and chilly here so the Thanksgiving turkey remains made it into the soup kettle.

Yesterday was supposed to be soup-making day for me but instead I made spaghetti and meatballs. My kids were ecstatic. Anyway, sounds like you had a good snow day, and I just loved watching the sliding dogs - they look just like seals - and suddenly I really wanted to go skiing.
Good old Billy Bragg, singing about ideologies clashing. Some things never change, eh? Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome Rebecca { my mega-commentor} I;m glad you enjoyed it.

I do love a bit of Billy Bragg but he drives The Lovely G up the wall so I only get to listen with the headphones on!

Ha ha, Alistair, I'll stop the commenting if it's all too much. It's just that I often catch up on your blog all in one day, so I can see how it would be a bit overwhelming. Backing off now.

Rebecca - please don't. I really enjoy them. It was more by way of a compliment!!! I could tell by the way you comment that you're often reading multiple posts at one time.......
