The Sunday Posts 2012

Happy the man, and happy he alone,
he who can call today his own:
he who, secure within, can say,
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.
Be fair or foul, or rain or shine
the joys I have possessed, in spite of fate, are mine.
Not Heaven itself, upon the past has power,
but what has been, has been, and I have had my hour.

Sorry Alistair, but this one doesn't work for me.

It's too maudlin, too accepting.

Where is the fire, the determination, to spit in the face of adversity and tell it to f*ck off, or die in the attempt.

The last phrase, "I have had my hour" is just too depressing, too fatalistic.

Hey Alistair! I am returned! And as a gella who regularly seizes, ravishes and spits out his days, I salute you! Indigo

I had my hour but I don't think I realized it and now I want it back!

Hullo TSB - See, I think that is axactly what it's saying - 'Do your worst because I've lived the way I wanted and have no regrets.' It's also accepting that you may not always have to rage against things but let the cards fall as they will.....

Indigo - welcome back from wherever. You've been missed.

don't worry dbs - it's not the end until it's over.

If it's not over - it's not the end!
