A blog Challenge

Hullo ma wee blog,

The curmudgeonly TwistedScottishBastard has thrown down the gauntlet and nominated 'Crivens Jings' to complete a challenge. Nominated blogs have to create a list of the following:

What's your most beautiful post.
What's been your most popular post.
What's been your most controversial post.
What's been your most helpful post.
Which posts success has surprised you most.
Which of your posts do you feel didn't get the attention it deserved.
Which post are you proudest of.

I also have to select five other blogs to take the challenge too, so I nominate the following five blogs to take part if they feel they would like to:

Dougies blog. (Because he complained so much that I missed him off the list the last time. lol)

 'think.stew'  (Because…… Well, just because.)

'Indigo Roth'. (Simply because sometimes you find a hidden gem of a blog that deserves a wider audience.  I'm in awe of the way this guy's mind works – and that some of his choice characters are talking badgers.)

'Coastkid'. (Because I like the fact he's a bike geek, is enthusiastic about where we both  live and because he makes great wee films – any of which he can post instead of a written article. And also because he buys me the occasional beer!)

'Letters to the world'. (Because she 's always worth a read – and she led me to Indigo!)

Here's my compilation, which I confess has taken a few days musing:

What's my most beautiful post?
Tricky, after all – how the heck would I know? I suppose I'd have to go for 'Whiskers At Dawn' as it's a personal favourite.

What's my most popular post?
Thankfully this one is easy thanks to blogger stats– although it would also be high on my list for the most surprisingly successful post. 'Black Agnes'

What's my most controversial post?
Again, this is tricky – I don't think I do controversy! I suppose I'd have to go with this one. 'The Devil's in the Detail'

What's my most helpful post?
Crikey! Makes me realise I'm not that helpful either!  From a very short list – it would have to be this. 'Contact'

Which posts success has surprised me?
From a very long list it would have to be this one - simply because it was difficult to write and didn't quite get down what I was feeling at the time and yet I got immediate good feedback from some kind people.  'Fear, Reflected' .

Which post hasn't had the success it deserves?
Tricky to answer when the footfall on the blog isn't particularly high. Personally I'd go with this one. 'Am Freiceadain Dubh'

Which post am I most proud of?
I'm quite proud of them all because before starting this blog I've never written anything – even my teenage attempt at a diary lasted for two inconsistent weeks of drivel – but I think I'll choose this one simply because it comes from the early days of the blog and was probably the first time I realised I could connect with my emotions and get them onto the page semi-effectively. 'Connections, Coincidence and Claret'

See you later.

Congrats.

I'll have to get back to check your recommendations and your posts.

I'm thinking of lobbying for 48 hour days. Imagine.

I wouldn't know where to start!

dbs - I was a bit intimidated first. I didn't know where to start, but after a while a few things came to mind and the rest came from re-reading some of my published stuff.

AC - thanks, I hope you enjoy them. Sorry to hear you're so busy – nightmare!

lom - that's how I felt too but once you got into it, it wasn't too bad.....

Hehe! Cute idea! I laughed at your comment about your most helpful post! I doubt I'd be able to name one of those either.....And yes, you should be proud of your blog, we all love it :)

Nicky - Aye, it was a conundrum that one right enough! I suppose this is a blog that, if anything, is possibly just meant to be diverting for a moment or two. I write for fun mainly and sometimes too it's helped me think something through or let me rant and get something out of the system. Hopefully that's entertaining for others to read too. I don't specifically write to be informative or political. It's just a conversation that like many others can cover anything and go anywhere.

I'm chuffed {puffs out chest} to hear you love it.

Thanks China!

Nominated?! CRIVENS!

Thank you, I'll do this, but probably as a CAPTAIN'S BLOG - SUPPLEMENTAL to a forthcoming entry.

Good choices Ali, I especially liked the Contact post we all like helping others)but the Connections, Coincidence and Claret was really moving. My grandfather came back from the Great War without the obvious trauma of your Granda, but he never, never talked about it. He was Royal Horse Artillery, and got badly gassed in (I think) 1916. He got home safely and returned to his previous employ in the steel mill in Airdrie, but he died from bowel cancer when I was 8. My Mum was convinced it was exposure to the mustard gas that caused t, as he never smoked or drank and had a pretty healthy lifestyle for a Scot in the 1950s.

Hello Alistair!
I'm peaking up out of the pile of papers on my desk (it's grant application and report writing time for the arts group I work with) to say thanks for giving me a blog topic to work with this week! I wouldn't have had the brain space to come up with one myself. Ack, I'm busy! Thanks so much for the tag and I'll also give you a little mention in my post, my Scottish pal. Yes, Indigo is cool, though he does go on about curry :)

Hullo you!

Sorry to hear you're snowed under at the moment. Hope you find time to get everything done and don't feel inundated by the challenge on top of everything else. It's meant to be enjoyable, so don't rush!

I'm happy to have found Indigo through your pages and really enjoy his stuff. I have no idea what you mean about the curry - it, along with pizza, beer and coffee are the most basic food groups essential for male sustenance. We have to have them. It's the law!

Ha.

Be Good! {and don't work too hard}
