Chet Atkins is much admired in this household. Interestingly, though J. cherishes his recordings in the classic "country" venue, I think his work was broader than is usually remembered. I seem to recall reading that he had early aspirations for jazz or R and B. Had to look up his playing partner for this clip---
Ooh smashing. My father got me into Chet Atkins when I was a small boy and I've been hooked ever since. The Atkins/Knopfler partnerships were some of dad's favourites actually.
Glad you enjoyed them guys. I came to this from the Mark Knopfler angle, as he is a favourite, but somehow uncool, guitarist. I had one of the compilation albums on tape and the first track here was one of the featured tunes.
they are both great musicians.
