Problems with Blogger - No Comment.
I've been having problems with Blogger for the last couple of days which has stopped me replying to comments on my own blog or leaving comments on others. It also meant that I couldn't read posts on blogs I follow where comments had already been left either. Any attempt at going to any of the pages described above simply lead me to a blank white page that wouldn't connect to anything.
Having posted a question on the Blogger Help forum I found that lots of people are having the same issue and fairly quickly got a response. Unfortunately this didn't resolve the issue for me but lead me to other comments which ultimately seems to have done the trick.
So, if any of you are having problems like this - go to the 'settings' area of your dashboard, select 'comments' and change the siting of the comments away from 'embedded below posts' to one of the other settings. It seems to have mainly done the trick for me although I don't understand why. I can now reply to comments on this blog again but I still have a problem reading some favourite bloggers posts with comments where they have comments embedded below the post. Oddly though it's some and not all......
I'll need to keep working on that. Hopefully blogger will be aware and produce a fix too - it's annoying. {and they're not the easiest people to find how to contact!}
At least I'm back in the land of blogging for a while - until the next problem hits at least!
See you later.

When blogger plays up it is a bit nippy!, my replies are in a funny Font so not quite right too, but still working
But it's no fair - yours is one of the blogs I can't read just now if there's been any comments on your posts.
And with the footfall you get.......
I've noticed a number f people are jumping ship, off blogger onto wordpress or some other carrier of blogs. So far I'm unlikely to move.
Aye Elisabeth so have I - especially last summer it seemed there was a mass exodus - but I've been relatively pleased with blogger and I like the familiarity of it now too, despite these wee hitches and glitches.
I'll be biding where I am for the moment too!
How strange. I have not had any problems but yesterday Blogger released a new feature on the comments that allows for "threaded" replies. I wonder if that's connected?
Hehe! Glad you resolved it! I love technology.......(said with a hint of sarcasm!)
Bloggger is such a big entity, wouldn't we think they'd have techy-types on top of these issues?
I've read of others moving a blog to wordpress, which sounds more complicated than I dare attempt.
Now that you mention it, I realize the blogs with a comment box are least affected, but still not a consistent thing.
Its interesting that when I can't comment or don't have comments from others its rather like missing the wave or 'hello' from a familiar neighbor.
Jono - I think it's clearly linked to that - yours is a blog I cant read the comments or comment on either until they get a proper fix done.
Nicky I'm a bloke - it's not resolved just slightly improved!
MM I know what you mean....
I had a bloody pencil next to my name. Do you have any idea how irritating that was?
No? Well, I did.
Still the most stable platform, switched to full page comment until they are finished with their bloody test drive.
I feel better now. You?
A bit.......
that's 'bit' spelled with a smal grrr......
....and I should sense check before hitting 'publish'!
